Since 2002 Verizon Communications has identified several Independent Testing Laboratories (ITL) as part of its NEBS testing witnessing program. This program helps expedite product-to-market cycles for Verizon's telecommunications equipment and creates more economical compliance testing processes for our suppliers.   Under the Verizon ITL NEBS Testing Certification Witnessing Program, the selected labs may witness or conduct Network Equipment Building System (NEBS) testing at vendors' or other laboratory facilities that are capable of conducting NEBS testing of telecommunications equipment.   The laboratory facility where the witnessing of the NEBS testing takes place does not have to be a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

See the NEBS-TCP Program page for information on Verizon's program for qualifing NEBS testing laboratories.

The laboratories currently recognized by Verizon under the ITL NEBS-TCWP program are:

Intertek ETL SEMKO, Lexington, KY
National Technical Systems (NTS), Acton, MA.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Northbrook, IL
