FOC ITL Program

GR-468-CORE Fiber Optic Component (FOC) testing requirement.
All Active Fiber Optic Component testing to GR-468-CORE may be conducted at the component OEM, supplier, or equipment integrator's own laboratory facilities.  Verizon no longer requires GR-468-CORE testing to be performed or witnessed by a Verizon-approved Fiber Optic Component (FOC) Independent Testing Laboratory (ITL).  Verizon considers this standard to be very important for the verification and reliability of optoelectrical devices.   Verizon reserves the right to examine GR-468-CORE test data from the OEM, supplier, or equipment integrator during the course of an equipment evaluation.

Verizon ITL FOC Certification Program
Verizon Communications has named the following Independent Testing Laboratories (ITLs) as part of its Fiber Optic Components (FOC) certification program.   This program helps expedite product-to-market cycles for Verizon's telecommunications equipment vendors and creates more economical compliance testing processes for them.

Under the Verizon ITL FOC certification program, the selected labs may witness/conduct FOC testing at their own laboratories or at vendors' facilities that have their own laboratories, which are capable of conducting FOC testing of telecommunications equipment for Verizon.   Such testing is essential to confirm that new Fiber Optic Components introduced to Verizon's network are fully compliant with accepted industry standards.
